We can all agree that safety covers are a great investment for anyone who owns an inground swimming pool. First and foremost is that they are SAFE, hence the name, and that is extremely important especially if you have small kids or pets that like to play in the backyard. They also look a million times better than any tarp swimming pool cover you decide to put on during the winter. And they are very easy to put on in the winter and take off in the spring time.
Safety Pool Covers.
But before you go and buy a safety cover you need to know a few details about them. Did you know that there are more than one type of safety cover? There are mesh safety pool covers and solid covers. The difference is obvious. Mesh pool safety covers allow rain water and melted snow to penetrate the cover and sink into your pool water. The good thing about this is you don’t have to constantly drain your pool cover all winter long and leaves and debris won’t collect because they won’t be weighed down by water. The bad thing is all that disgusting water is going into your pool so come spring time you pool will be quite a mess to deal with.
And there are also solid cover which of course means you will have to pump water off your cover during the winter months but come spring time your pool will be much easier to open. Solid covers also tend to cost more money because it’s more fabric but I would recommend solid covers because If you don’t mind draing your pool in the winter they you’ll love opening a clear pool in the spring.
